Arsenal await FA confirmation
The January transfer window in the English Premier League has closed but there was still some action taking place as Arsenal attempt to sign Russian superstar Andrei Arshavin.
Arsenal reportedly got the signature of Arshavin according to his club Zenit Saint Petersburg. The deal was said to be worth in the region of £12m.
The Russian passed a medical and agreed to personal terms but Arsenal was awaiting a decision from the FA to finalise Arshavin's paperwork.
Elsewhere, Robbie Keane re-signed for Tottenham after spending just six months at Liverpool.
His new coach Harry Redknapp said he was not sure why Keane did not have greater success while the Reds.
"Liverpool are such a strong side and going so well in the league and it was difficult for him to break into the team on a regular basis but he is back here now and he will be very important to us."
Meanwhile, Chelsea has brought in Inter! 's Portuguese midfielder Ricardo Quaresma on loan till the end of the season.
It is estimated that nearly £160m (which is around R2.3bn) was spent in the past month. This figure is higher from the amount which was about £149.2m.
