Hunter's Joy Ahead of Tour

On the eve of the Tour de France, South African cycling hero, Robert Hunter, has become a father for the first time. Hunter's daughter, Mandy, was born today, 3 July 2008. She was only due on the 19th, which is the anniversary of her dad's 2007 Stage 11 Tour win. Like the Barloworld rider, the young Hunter had to arrive earlier than the bunch.

"I am ecstatic. This is both the proudest and most humbling moment of my life," said the excited new father.
